The Energy Box is the name given to the Health and Fitness Centre built within our grounds. It provides students, teachers, clubs and the local community with
This facility allows the school to develop and improve on its commitment to ensuring that fitness is an essential part of any student's life and has given the P.E. Faculty greater flexibility within the curriculum and opportunities to deliver a wide range of School Extra activities. Our new £2.2m sports facility was official opened by England netball star and Sport England Champion, Tracey Neville. What makes The Energy Box even more unique is that much of the south facing wall is formed from special innovative photo-voltaic panels which harness valuable energy from natural daylight. This helps to offset some of the school's effects on the environment. The Energy Box brings a whole new range of opportunities to our school, our partner primary schools and the local community, offering facilities previously unavailable in the area. Our students have the chance to develop their fitness levels and complement this with a wider health education programme. Similar opportunities apply to local primary schools, as they are also able to take advantage of the new fitness and teaching facilities available. Out of school hours, The Energy Box is available to the local community; groups, clubs and individuals from 4.15-10pm on weekdays and from 9am-4pm at weekends. The sports hall is available for let and there is a wide programme of activities and classes offered in the sports hall and in the multipurpose studio, many of which are 'pay as you go' with a typical cost of £3.75 a session. Please see the links below: After school, School Extra activities are provided for Levenshulme's pupils until 4.30pm, Junior activities often overlap and run from, typically, 4.30-600pm. But from 5.30-10.00pm weekdays and 9.00am-4.00pm at weekends, the centre is open as The Energy Box Health and Fitness Club. PricesBecome a member of The Energy Box!
